Tour the Honduran highlands and Lake Jojoa for difficult-to-find specialties. This may be the best location in Central America to find Blue-throated Motmot and five other motmots; Black-throated, Unicolored & Bushy-crested Jays; Scaled Antpitta, Blue & White Mockingbird; Resplendent Quetzal; Rufous-collared Thrush; Prevost Ground-Sparrow and many others can be easily seen as well. We visit a number of national parks including the remote and beautiful La Tigra National Park as well as Lake Jojoa with it’s huge number of waterbiirds and waders. This is an exceptional extension for those joining our Pico Bonito trip, but it can be taken on its own as well.
