Dave Krueper has spent the last 40 years studying birds and traveling extensively in the United States and throughout the world (six continents and 36 countries thus far). He has worked for the US Forest Service (and lived in Alaska) for four years, and then did research for the Bureau of Land Management as the Avian Senior Technical Specialist on avian ecology in the Southwest. He then moved to Albuquerque to work with the US Fish and Wildlife Service for the Nongame Migratory Bird Program in the Southwest Region (AZ, NM, OK, and Texas) for 17 years. He has led birding tours throughout the New World tropics, the United States and Alaska for the past ten years. As the former President for Western Field Ornithologists as well as the New Mexico Ornithological Society, he has a great deal of experience in all things “western bird-related.”
